What is Dalia

 Dalia or broken wheat is a coarse form of whole wheat, consisting of husk within so rich in fiber and adds wholesomeness to your meal.

    How to make Dalia Upma

     Making Dalia is as easy as making Maggie or any instant noodles so can be made by any amateur, non-kitchen person, no need to have any precise kitchen skills to prepare this Dalia Upma recipe.

    Ingredients for Dalia Upma 

    Dalia: 250gm

    Refined oil: 2 tablespoon

    Onions: 2 middle-size finely chopped

    Tomato: 3 middle-size finely chopped

    Capsicum ( green, red, yellow): 1 cup

    Beans: 1 cup sliced into small size

    Zeera: half teaspoon

    Asafoetida: a pinch of is enough

    Salt: as per taste

    Turmeric: half teaspoon

    Chat masala: half teaspoon ( totally optional)

    Coriander: for garnishing


    Cooking Dalia Upma

    • Have a pan on the flame
    • Pour refined oil, zeera, and asafoetida
    • Then add sliced onions, let it semi brown then add all the sliced vegetables and cook those together,
    • Add salt, turmeric, green chilies, chat masala if you like,
    • When vegetables get half cooked, add washed Dalia into the pan and finely add water in the layer, cover the pan with the lid for 3 to 5 minutes on low- medium flame
    • Off the flame, mix the cooked Dalia properly so all the vegies got evenly distributed everywhere in the pan, then add coriander,

    Ready to serve, serve hot for its best version.
